Neil Timms Q.C. has served on the CBA Council for nearly a decade and is a past Treasurer and Secretary. He was called to the Bar in England and Wales in 1974 and practiced for 17 years from chambers in London (now 1 Chancery Lane). He was admitted as an Attorney -at -Law in the the Cayman Islands in 1989 and called to the Bar of the British Virgin Islands in 2004. He joined Maples and Calder in 1992 and became one of its two partners in its Litigation Department. He retired from the firm in 2005. He was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 2009 and is in private practice as a referral lawyer and acts as an arbitrator. He has wide experience in multi jurisdictional commercial, trust, fund and insolvency litigation.
Neil is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and an honorary member of the Commercial Bar Association.
