Since its inception nearly 30 years ago, the CBA's mandate has been to serve the legal profession and represent the views and interests of Caymanian attorneys. The CBA currently represents over 230 Caymanian attorneys and over 100 Caymanian law students and articled clerks.
Our objectives include the protection, promotion and enhancement of Caymanian attorneys within the legal profession, encouraging the study of law by Caymanians and advocating for adequate training, development and career progression of Caymanians within the profession. We also work with the Government of the Cayman Islands, the Cayman Islands Law Society and other stakeholders to encourage the constant review of the law and desired law reform.
Our Council consists of a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary along with 5 other Council members, all of whom are elected annually by our members. For further details on our current Council please visit our Council page.
Our Student Chapter provides a useful forum for Caymanian law students and articled clerks seeking a career in law. For further information please visit our Student Chapter page or contact one of our Student Chapter Representatives.
